Computing the Answer Since 7.5 Million Years Ago
Millions of years ago, a race of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings built a stupendous supercomputer called Deep Thought. Its task: calculate the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. After 7.5 million years, the answer came back — forty-two. The problem? No one ever knew what the question actually was.
Our Deep Thought picks up where the original left off. It's an art car — part supercomputer, part spaceship, part living room — rolling across the playa to help you find your own question. Or maybe just to make you dance while the universe figures it out.
The vehicle carries a full DJ booth on the roof, a massive LED screen pulsing with generative visuals, and a sound system that carries across the desert. But what happens outside is only half the story. The other half is what happens when you step inside.

Step Inside the Computer
Inside: The Heart
Step through the door and the desert disappears. Inside Deep Thought is a cocoon — fur blankets, soft light, and a galaxy projected across the ceiling. Lie back on sheepskin, let the bass hum through your body, and watch the stars drift overhead. It's cozy. It's warm. It's fuzzy. It's everything the playa isn't.
The Bridge: Control Room
The spaceship's bridge is where hitchhikers become crew. A control panel invites you to input your answer to the Ultimate Question. What is the meaning of life? Type it in. Deep Thought will consider your response. It will probably still say 42.
The Airlock: Exit to Outer Space
At the back of the ship, a ladder rises through a hatch into the night sky. This is the airlock — your passage from the warm belly of the computer to the open rooftop, where the DJ spins under actual stars and the whole playa stretches out around you.

Behind the Vision
Who We Are
We're a crew of artists, engineers, musicians, fabricators, and people who should probably have been talked out of this months ago. We come from different countries, different backgrounds, and different answers to the Ultimate Question. What we share is a belief that the best way to explore a question is to build something beautiful, fill it with fur, point it at the desert, and turn the music up.
Deep Thought is based in Dreamery Camp. The project is open — you don't need to be a camp member to help build, and helping doesn't guarantee a spot in camp. But we'll be very grateful for every hand, every idea, and every dollar.
This is a community-funded, volunteer-driven build. No one profits. Every contribution goes directly into materials, electronics, transport, and the thousand small things that turn a truck into a supercomputer.
